Our Disney Land: Sour Cream Cinnamon Coffee Cake
I was once told that Disney Land pumps cinnamon sugar into the air on Main Street. Whether or not it's true, you can't deny that cinnamon sugar has this nostalgic, loving, magical smell that makes you feel like you are in happiest place on earth. Well, this recipe is our Disney Land. It's our mom's Sour Cream Cinnamon Coffee Cake; it brings Rach and I back, makes us think of family, and envelops our taste buds like a warm hug. Let's hug it out.
Sour Cream Cinnamon Coffee Cake
1/2 C butter or margarine (we actually prefer margarine in this recipe. Aghast!)
1 C sugar
1 C sour cream
1 T vanilla
2 C flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 C brown sugar
2 T cinnamon
In a stand mixer, or alternatively, you stand up and mix together butter, sugar, eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, and baking soda and mix until glossy. Meanwhile combine brown sugar and cinnamon. In a lightly oiled bundt cake pan, layer batter and topping until all in. Bake at 350 for 40 mins. Your kitchen is now the happiest place on earth. Soon to be your belly. Zip-a-dee-doo-dah.
